Corning Opera House Cultural Center (COHCC) has been making a difference since its opening in June 2012! You’ve seen shows like New York’s Well Strung string quartet, grammy nominated winners Tonic-Sol-Fa, and Dove winning Sidewalk Prophets without driving 60 miles or paying for parking! Some of you have children or grandchildren that have performed in one of our Disney Jr youth musicals or sang in the Christmas cantata broadcast on Iowa PBS’s Iowa Life. Were you here when the smoke alarms went off because of the popcorn popper or the fog machine on stage?

Perhaps you've taken a seat here to witness your child's acting debut or their shining moment in a Tonight Show performance. Maybe you've been part of a crowd meeting Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina, or Mike Pence. Or perhaps COHCC has welcomed you for land auctions, IDOT sessions, or DNR training. Whatever the occasion, these walls have seen countless stories unfold.
 
Some of you have exchanged vows and tied the knot at breathtaking wedding ceremonies and receptions. Others have gathered to honor and remember loved ones, sharing cherished memories at funerals. Many have given their time and energy as dedicated volunteers, while others have simply come to revel in the magic of live performances.
 
Others have never known Corning without an opera house. In this place, we can see up-and-coming Nashville artists, national touring shows, local Iowa musicians, or our friends on stage. Many have brought stories to life from behind the scenes, directing with vision, painting with passion, and building set pieces that transform spaces into new worlds. Whether crafting the stage or shaping the moment, every hand has left its mark on something bigger than itself.
 
We've brought you world-class entertainment and unforgettable experiences that have shaped the Corning Opera House into what it is today. Looking ahead, we remain committed to providing a multi-purpose historical venue that enriches cultural experiences for all. Thanks to donors and sponsors like our Box Office sponsor PCSB! Have you seen the fall lineup? It's packed with excitement—featuring a Beach Boys tribute, ‘70s & ‘80s rock ‘n’ roll, a ventriloquist, and a one-man historical drama. Plus, First Friday Friends will spotlight authors, Iowa fun facts, and culinary arts.
 
We're still welcoming visitors to explore the world through gatherings, workshops, and concerts. Whatever the occasion, this space continues to be the backdrop for life's most meaningful moments. Thanks for sharing the stage with us!
